Day 1 : The South Coast
Summary
A scenic journey along Iceland’s South Coast, shaped by glaciers, volcanoes, and the powerful forces of the North Atlantic. Walk behind Seljalandsfoss, feel the spray of Skógafoss—fed by the Eyjafjallajökull glacier—and explore the dramatic cliffs of Dyrhólaey, once a volcanic island. At Reynisfjara, witness basalt columns formed by cooling lava and powerful Atlantic waves, before visiting Fjaðrárgljúfur, a winding canyon carved at the end of the last Ice Age and featured in Game of Thrones.

Visit Svínafellsjökull, a dynamic outlet of Vatnajökull where shifting ice creates deep crevasses, and explore Gígjagjá (Yoda Cave), formed by volcanic erosion. Continue to Dyrhólaey, once a volcanic island with towering cliffs and a massive sea arch, before discovering the hidden waterfall of Kvernufoss. The journey ends with a scenic drive back to Reykjavík through ever-changing landscapes.

Each night of the tour, we venture out of the city and away from light pollution in search of the magical Aurora Borealis, also known as the Northern Lights.
📸 Professional photos of your experience are included, and assistance is available to help set up your own camera if needed.
The Aurora season runs from September to March, and while the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon—never guaranteed—our nightly hunts, combined with expert knowledge and real-time data, give you the best possible chance to witness this unforgettable spectacle.
